I originally sent the following email to Zach (minorly edited to eliminate some personal stuff but retain the theological content:
Have not been able to decide how to feel about something you said Mon, re: the death of the Reformed Tradition & myself as more what the Reformed tradition would look like if it kept reforming. For one, do you really believe the Reformed Tradition is effectively dead? If so, that could turn into a bestselling book. Not a bad angle for the Priest & Prophet book we discussed. For two, to what degree, if any, were you using me as a strawman to represent viewpoints you also share but need to be private about? (No complaint, just wandering how much we relate on these issues. I get that it is risky for you to indicate agreement publicly, so no judgment at all.) For three, do you really think I am (and maybe you are; see above) representative of the essence of the Reformed Tradition? Struggling with being both heretical & iconic at the same time...
Zach's response soon to come...
Tune in next time, same blog time, same blog channel.
Priest vs Prophet
Rev Zach and Owen face off in the most loving possible way about issues pertaining to what it means to follow Jesus in a post-Christian world. Beware: nothing is sacred because everything is Sacred.

This was an excellent idea.....
... if poorly timed.
but we're gonna do it anyway.
To everybody out there (Yes, that means you!) - If you have theological issues that you want discussed, send 'em in. We may be wrong, but we are unabashedly so and we take no prisoners. (Mostly because we're pacifistic.)
Looking forward to this.
A lot.
